The History of Teeto Signs…

Founder John Teeto was born in Niagara Falls, NY. His artistic skills came naturally, at the age of 12 he was hand painting graphics on his first stock car for a family friend. After graduating high school early, John got his first Sign Painting Job with a local expert Mike Plumber where he learned how to perfect his craft on all different types of vehicles, walls, building signs and multiple substrates.

John moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1980 and worked for Bundy Signs in Hollywood, FL. where he was exposed to some talented show card artists as well as other local experts who did everything from channel letters to billboards.  He began lettering windshields for car dealerships as well as creating his own window shade business on the side and eventually left Bundy Signs in ’85 to start Teeto Signs. Jerry Hancock, another notorious sign painter in South Florida had introduced John to lettering boats which eventually became Teeto Signs main focus.

Since then Teeto Signs has had the opportunity to work with many of South Florida’s leading Marina’s, Shipyards and Mega-Yacht owners. John’s son, JT also helps out at the shop as John’s right hand man along with Grandpa Teeto who joins the team half of the year.  Teeto Signs has pursued it’s reputation to provide top-notch quality services for 30 years and continues to improve and expand with new sign technology and methods daily.  LIKE our FACEBOOK Page to keep track of our most recent work!
